Celebrating July 4 in Woods Hole & Quissett

WOODS HOLE – It’s hard to choose between a 140-foot red, white and blue Chinese dragon and grad students dressed as psychedelic organisms but that is the decision one must make when choosing between the Quissett July 4 parade and the Woods Hole July 4 parade. Fortunately the two parades are a mere 10-minute bike ride apart, so a Cape Cod Wave reporter can cover both.

We bring you short mashup videos from both of these one-of-a-kind events, the Quissett parade, a more stately affair set along scenic Quissett Harbor; and the Woods Hole Parade along Water Street, a boisterous mess of colorful noise featuring young members the summer science community dressed up as the microscopic creatures they study.

These are both Falmouth originals, sure to bring a smiles to the faces of all spectators, be they wee ones in a stroller or mature onlookers who have seen many parades before.
