2-Minute Video – Steve Smith and the Nakeds are “huge” in Falmouth

FALMOUTH – A joyful spaceship called the “Summer of 1983  or so” landed in Falmouth on Saturday night in the form a a concert celebrating the long-gone Casino By the Sea, a beach bar like no other.

Featured were were the musical pillars of those long ago summers, New England favorites Steve Smith and the Nakeds, and John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band.

Here are Steve Smith and the Nakeds performing their classic summertime song,  “I’m huge, and the babes go wild.” (See also, Dancing on the lawn in memory of a beach bar)

Thirty years later, the dance floor looked about the same. Just as crowded, a lot of the exact same people, not quite as crazy.

Not quite.

This doesn’t happen any more in Falmouth, except that it actually did.

It should again.

Apologies for the audio. I was standing next to the speaker in order to get the band and the crowd in the video.

I still can’t hear.
